have a 2001 supercrew heard a loud pop the other day then loud popping sound one of my plugs had some how backed out over some time till it finally blew out there is some damage to the threads in the head they have to use some kit to fix the problem might as well replace all plugs while they are under hood.Anyone heard of this happening? I got a 5.4 liter with 9000 k.

 

naw naw never heard of that happening round here.....

man there's COUNTLESS threads dedicated to this. it sucks... hey be glad you don't have a newer one... they're spark plugs stay in so damn good they break off in the head lol.. ford goes from the blowing out to sticking in...

had one blow out on me 3-4 weeks ago. Had it repaired for $300, 100 was cop & plug, 200 labor, they also put an insert to repair it. (2000 expi 146,000 on 4.6)

 

Don't worry, according to some here it's a "minor" problem because Ford sold a trillion F150's with these modular motors.

That and it hasn't happened to them yet.

There is a thread in here called "Living with the blowout problem" or something along that line. It's a good read if you have a week to spare....
