The 05 did not have a flex fuel option. The only 05 Ford truck that did was the SportTrac.

I filled up with my first tank of E-85 last week. It was .80 cents cheaper than regular ($2.98gal). I averaged 14mpg in the city with reg unleaded fuel and with the E-85 I average 12 so I'm pretty happy with the savings and no noticable difference in performance.

A gallon of E85 has an approx BTU rating of 85,390 as opposed to reg gasoline which is 125,000 BTU, a difference of 31.5%.

If your paying $2.46 a gallon for E85 verse 3.99 for regular, then your getting a good deal with the E85, about 10% more btu for the dollar.
