oxygen sensor help

I am in the middle of installing some long tubes on my truck. The oxygen sensors wires are not long enough now by about 6 inches. Can I just splice in some more wire. I don't care about the brand I have to put in. Are there any sensors that are longer wires that can just plug and play in the aftermarket.

For about $30.00 you can get extensions.

Well i'm between a rock and a hard place right now. On tuesday I have to leave for work for 2 weeks and I NEED my truck for that day or I am gonna have to buy another vehicle which I really don't want to do here. Will mustang sensors work or there extenders. I need about 18 inches of wire I guess.

In a pinch cut the O2 sensor wires and extend them. The mustang extenders or the sensors should work. I made my own extensions and my friend with a modular Mustang borrowed them.

Yea those wires are sensitive. If you splice (I spliced mine) - You have to splice using the same guage. You also have to go easy on solder - you can't have a big wad aof solder on the joint or this may throw thing off a bit. My LT's came with the extra wire and connectors , so that made it easy for me.

You can also just crimp the connection with good connectors if you have them.

Extenders are an easier rout like JMC posted.

Also, when you put the plastic harness guard on the wires - don't tape it solid - it holds water when you do - I learned the hard way

The wire and red connectors my LT kit came with are in the middle of this pic/ the white wire is O2 wire and black sleeving.

BTW - RPM outlet has extenders aswell - http://www.rpmoutlet.com/gmo2s.htm
