Remote Oil Filter question

My 97 4x4 4.6 has a remote oil filter located under the front driver's bumper, the hoses leak a little bit.
Does anybody know where can I get these hoses ?
I was wondering if this set up is stock.
Has anybody replaced that before ?
Thanks

That is stock for a 97-98 4x4. As far as getting hoses, the only place I know is the dealer. I am sure others will have had a similar problem, and will be along shortly.

Remote oil access oil leak

Thank you for the response.
My hose is leaking a little, enough to mess my driveway.
It is leaking right where the hoses attach to a small aluminum block attached to the engine block.
the piece attached to the engine block does not leak and I am assuming there is a gasket.
But where the hose ends on that aluminum part is where the leak is coming from.
I will have to get a pair of hoses , hopefully it is not to expensive.
Thanks again.

find a place that sells backhoes, trackhoes or other heavy equipment (like a CAT or Kubota store). bring in your old hoses with fittings on both ends (you dont have to bring in the adapter that goes to the block). have them get some hydraulic line the same length and diameter and then match the fittings.

you will never have a problem again and this is a much cheaper solution.

Thanks for your post Chief4x4. There is a TSB concerning this item, but there was no remediation recommended.
I had wanted to replace both hoses, and re-crimp the ends.

I would go to a hose specialty shop take the thing off and bring it in tell them you want better hoses. I bet for around $50 they will make you up some nice steel braided ones. I have hose's made all the time for my carpet cleaning equipment. House of hose is where i go..

have you tried autozone or any such retailer, I had an s10 blazer with the remote oil filter i too had to change out the hoses, at that time i got them at the dealer, about a year later i went to autozone and they stocked them lesson learned.

I had tried to get mine out of my truck for the exact same thing, and couldn't get the d@mned things out. I ended up having to just bolt the things back together, leak and all (now worse, I suspect). I'm hoping that when I get the e-fans put in with that huge shroud removed I'll be able to get in there easier to remove them. It's been a number of months now, and I can't remember what the heck I was hanging up on that I couldn't get them out before.

Bummer ******* Motor Co. had to take such a great concept as has been in practice for many years, and screw it up with sub-standard materials.

Ford Cheap? Not . My stock remote lines have 240,000 miles on them, same O-Rings. Ford Radiator hoses can last the life time of your engine.

Cheapest way is what chiefFX4 said , sort of. I would hit up a sub-contractor like "The Hose Doctor" lol - That's the guys company name in my area. Ask wheres he's going to be today , bring the hoses with you and have him make them up. These guys are sub-contacted by Heavy Equipment outfits and pull a shop trailer to fix Hydraulic hoses on site.

That's how I had a my 3800 PSI pressure washer hose made, it was cheap.

How did the hose get a hole in it ? Usually it's just a bad O-Ring.
