what is IAC

it said to replace IAC

It stands for "idle air control"

The IAC valve increases engine speed when engine temperature is low by venting air into the air duct behind the throttle plate.

Its located on the back of the throttle body. Cleaning the throttle body would be good. Might be able to clean the IAC to but I'd just replace it.

Who said to replace the IAC and why? Sometimes they can be cleaned.

Tried to clean mine, only made it worse. Replaced it for $70.00 from Autozone....took 5 minutes.
