Plugging the Baffles in the Stock Air Intake?

There has been a lot of discussion here about the baffles on the stock intake, value, cutting them off, etc. Has anyone tried putting a plug in them to cut off air flow? Did it make any difference in the sound or response? I am thinking I could wad up a piece of foam rubber and plug the 3 baffles. In theory that should it a straight intake tube and open up the sound. What do ya'll think?

I guess if the sound is all you were after, why not.

Before I messed with that, I think I would get an Airaid Jr. It is a tube that utilizes the stock air filter.

I was looking for sound and performance but have read the baffles do not affect performance at all. I also replaced the stock snorkel with a 3" piece of PVC extended into the fender wall. That should give a similar effect as the MIT tube. I did block off the stock baffles and really noticed no change in sound or power. I did hear and feel a difference when I added the PVC tube.
