I've seen a dyno run on TV where there was a few extra ponies made on a run. If I'm going for every last pony like for racing I would use it. Otherwise I run Amsoil thru out and have had great luck with it.

Royal Purple is good, but not the best. Of course, how can anything actually be "the best"? I use Royal Purple & Lucas Oil on my cars. Both brands are good. Front & rear differentials, transmissions, transfer cases, and engines.

I am more than satisfied with the Motorcraft Blend, the 5.4 runs just as smooth & is just as quiet with the MotorCraft Blend!...............

And here's YOUR sign - risupercrewman was inferring that Mobil is the "world most greediest" company.

openclasspro#11 was insinuating that Wal*Mart is... Hence the statement about not shopping there...

I agree with openclasspro#11.

I really like the MC synthetic Blend! I notice no difference in the way the 5.4 runs in terms of smoothness & engine noise upon startup in the mornings, since switching from Mobil-1! I just turned 20,000 today! I've seen so many posts here about loud 5.4 3v's with engine noise, maybe I just seen to have a good one built on a Tuesday or Wednesday?..............

I agree - unless you are using your truck as a dragster, I honestly doubt that you'll have THAT much to gain from it $ to $. Now, as far as longevity? It's been said that RP is better than most, if not all syns. Is that true? Who knows. I would consider running it everywhere but my oil, which gets changed all the time. I can't see the benefit of using it in a dd.

Any gains, 1-3 MPG @ best, will be from a full fluid exchange. Not just engine oil. That means transmission, transfer case, front differential, rear differential, and engine oil. Some people also use the radiator additives that Red Line & Royal Purple market. I, myself, have used Lucas Oil Upper Cylinder Lubricant in all my vehicles.
