Spark plug or sensor?

i've tried the forum search and it helped but i still have a question. i have the ticking problem on my 99 f150. The ticking got really bad today and i popped the hood and felt the coils and the 2nd one one the passenger side is vibrating. none of the other ones are and thats the side i hear it from more. does it sound like the plug is loose to yall? I had my dad come look at it and he said it could be the sensor but why would it be the coil be vibrating if it was a sensor.

Sure sounds like a symptom of a loose plug to me...did you pull the COP & check it out? I would do that before driving it anywhere else. If its loose pull it out and look at the threads in the head real close. If they're OK, put the plug back in with NO antisieze and torque to 13 Ft-Lb. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck!

Yea , check that plug pronto! Nothing else ticks except the fuel injectors in that area - You are the plug sensor

99 models - The year that plugs were "over" torqued right at the factory. I doubt you have factory plugs. You might want to make sure your at MAX torque = 16' lbs. Make sure you can achieve it. If not, better fix it.

Great! Yea, you didn't confirm what the problem was, that's why I asked.

It's good you caught it early.

nice. just food for thought since i've seen these sparkplug box's too much lately. NGK torque specs on the rear for our non gasket style plug, for those of us who aint sticking a tq wrench in there or dont have a 3/8 drive one or whatever, 1/16th turn past finger tight is their recommendation and what ive done for years.

Unhappy damn

it blew a plug today...i came home for lunch and on my way back i stopped and when i let off the gas the go kart noises started i hadn't even touched the gas pedal yet. stopped on the other side of the intersection (luckily i was on a backroad no crazy drivers there) and popped the hood and checked the one i tightened and it may be that one. but idk i took it to the mechanic after school idk when ill get it back...
