fuel leak broken fule line were?

so today i went to go put air in my wheel barrel from the gas station i jump in my truck and try to start it...it cranks and cranks and cranks....no start im like humm werid then i smelled gas i got out and theres a huge puddle under my truck right under the starter... i follow the gas lines from the filter up to the rail and use a mirrior to look behide the TB. and i dont see a leak i had someone in there turn the key forward while i was under it...i can see it pouring right on the passenger side head and down to the starter and then the ground...What fuel line is this? does anyone have a digram of the fuel lines? 97 F-150 4.6L 128,000 miles Thanks guys.

Check the fitting where the passenger side fuel rail meets the flexible hoses. Also look for a leaking fuel injector O ring or the schrader valve. If the hold down bolt is loose or vibrated out it will allow the injectors to leak.

Yep - Mine came completely apart doing about 55mph taking my kid to school one morning Pumped fuel all over the motor. That damn spring connector rusted inside and broke. Wasted number 8 coil in the process.

I used my boot laces to tie it back together lol - she made to school and I made it back home . Glad I had those COP's caked up with grease - That could of been allot worse.

But yea, check there for sure.

BTW - That does a good job cleaning your motor - so it wasen't all bad.

well i found it its spraying out of injector number 3 on the passenger side. ive loosen the bolts on the rail and tapd the rail with a rubber mallet a few times and then tryed to tighten it back up but no luck. my friend is here so im going to have him push down on the fuel rail while i tighten the bolts for the fuel rail. Can the O-ring on the injector go bad? i have some more but would they break or stop working? thanks again for all your help.

Yea , prolly split an O-ring - I think Auto Zone carries just O-ring sets for your injectors . I've heard of another guy getting a set from them - But the dealer would be best IMO. I believe your suppose to lightly oil those before installation. I have a bunch , if you happen to be out this way. But my daughters not here, she's in Cali for two weeks - so don't get your hopes up lol.

haha darn. i had 8 extra off the police intercptor fuel rail. the O ring was very stretched out. i took all the injectors on that side out and cleaned them up they were dirty inside the engine part and i put some 5W30 on the top of the O-rings and they went right in fine tightend every thing up hook my batt. and turned the key on an off about 5 times to get pressure back and it fired right up. Thanks again for all your help... Jbrew do you live by Michigan state? i seem to find my way out there alot latey. 96 west to exit 110.
