hello all
ok here my story , i just picked up a 92 f-150 4x4 from a friend of mine got a sweet deal on , about 4 months ago it started running ruff so he tuned it up , changed the fuel filter, and did a timing chain.

the truck ran great for about 4 days , then one day it back fires and blows the muffler apart and it has'nt started since.

THe truck will crank over and acts like it want to start but no fire,

any ideas fo me

Check the timing chain first.

 

Turn the motor to #1 cylinder TDC compression stroke (use the timing pointer to verify). Pull the cap off and make sure the rotor is pointing to #1. Pull the distributor and check the gear. There is a roll pin holding it on the shaft. Make sure it is not broken. If so, you have a locked up oil pump likely. If that checks out, suspect the TFI module.
