I'm looking at one of these if the adapter I ordered fits the water pump.

I think the problem is,,,nobody runs that type of fan!
Most go with an electric fan.

But,,,if that's what you really want to go with. For whatever your reasons are.
I have a stock fan in my basement,,,I can go see how big it is.

I'd appreciate it if you could measure it. I wouldn't mind going with electric but the cost is one of the things preventing that.

Dont Do One Of Those!!!

You will LOSE POWER!!!! The reason for a fan with a clutch is that you water pump is not always pushing the fan. Yes it will always be spining, But the fan clutch once cool will be sliping more, and use less of your engines HP to push it. It firms up when hot and does not slip to cool the engine better. Installing one of those OLD SCHOOL direct drive fans will make you lose power since it is always robbing power from the motor to drive it.
Your 97 had a metal fan on a clutch. I do recomend that you get a newer fan which would be plastic, lighter and have better blade design to cool better. Other members have offered one to you. I also have one if you need.
Another option would be going electric. More $$$ and time, but it has some benifit.

x2 to lowflying bird, really those fans you are looking at are a waste of money, unless of course you are looking for the ultimate cooling capacity.
