definately need to beef up the front suspension on whatever year ranger you use. sounds like it'll be alot of fun when you're done

Nice neal so at least i know it can be done are there any year rangers better than others or am i gonna end up moding so much of it it wont matter? im planning on making this a sleeper so i can see the look on the guy with a hemi who thinks hes hot chit get smoked by a lil ole ranger i was thinking quite flow mufflers maybe 4 of them haha and of coruse some cut-outs for when i feel like shakeing the ground This summer should be tons of fun. Well a few questions i have are...what kind of rear axle? what gears? i belive it has a C4 tranny on it right now. i might redo the top end of the engine Heads cam valves and carb....maybe dual carb? anyone who knows what works good in a 460 let me know...ill take some pictures when i get the 460 and tranny and ill go to my local junkyard for a ranger. and maybe a wrecked superduty for the front end parts

I doubt it's a C4, it's probably a C6.

the 10 1/4's had several different ratios. find a 9.75, they would hold up just fine.

HI!... Get a early 80's Ranger. 83 to 88 are good to work with and you can get them dirt cheap. Get yourself a engine plate like I did in my pics. Don't bother with engine mounts. There a PITA on these trucks. With the engine plate you can set the engine as far back as you want and as low as you want. Don't run a 7.5 or 8.8 rearend. There junk, your destroy them with the 460. Go to the scrapyard and get a STERLING 9.75 out of a F-150 with a 5.4. After 99 they had rear disc brakes. You will have to narrow it but any decent chassis shop can do that for you. Steel driveshaft is a MUST. Your heater box will have to be modified to allow for the 460's valve cover on the passengers side. Or do like me and totally remove it. Trans tunnel is really small on the RANGERS. My C-4 barely fit so if your going to run a C-6 you might have to to some trans tunnel modifications. You'll have to cut the front rad cradle out and get a custom rad and push it as forward as possible to allow for the length of the 460. You'll need to run electric fans. For front springs, you can go to the FORD dealer and order a set for a v-6 equipped extended cab RANGER. They let my Ranger sit at the stock height with the V-8 in it.

I still have the RANGER. It's in storage currently. Lost interest in it. For now.

yeah its a carb 460 with a C6 on the back of it. once we find a ranger gonna take the body off and dump the 460 and C6 on the frame and just build around that. a few of my buddys are welders and they said they will weld the C frame so its fully boxed im going to get drive shaft loops for WHEN the drive shaft blows up. and i think just for laghs ill leave the stock ranger axle in the 460 hooked up....ill prob put it in drive and BOOM ill take a video i cant wait! i picked up a 460 Block today by my self....those things are pretty heavy. the 460 with the C6 i might need another person to help me out should be fun thanks for the input Neal. me and my buddy were thinking have the 2 1/4 pipe exit were a ranger normaly would and run E-cut-outs... but it should be a fun time when a Flat black 80's ranger pulls up next to your hemi you wont think nothing of it till i hit the go fast pedal

to make it appear stock....so the people that see it think its a V6 of a I4 but really is 460 cubic inchs of power my buddy is dead set on making it 4X4 so i guess im gonna need 2 axles. i was thinkign just have the stock tail pipe and thats it with dual 3 inch pipe dumped under the truck or somthing. ahh i cant wait to see the look on a HEMI driver or a corvette driver when a 84 ranger smokes them haha. i beat an Implma today it was only a v-6 but still my trucks running good...after i had over 1,500lbs in the bed for about 16 miles.
