I also fell victim...I spit a plug today
Had the mis-fortune of spittig a plug in wifey's '02 Expedition this morning at my Uncle's. And yep...its the 5.4!
Funny thing is I was able to put it back in and drove a half hour to get home with no ill effects.
However I'm feel very uneasy about it and would like to change all the plugs and wires out and was reading about a "plug insert" to fix the plug that was spit out ect....
To be honest I have no clue what I'm suppose to look for and if I ask a guy behind the counter will he know what a plug insert is?
I did read a good tutorial covering changing plugs and it's looks like something I will have no problem doing...I just want to take care of this plug problem and know nothing of these so called inserts.
And advice will be greatly appreciated!

Time Cert's are generally recommended.

Try to avoid using a heli-coil.
Many people have found that they do not last.
Here's some links that may help you with the plugs.

Btw, I've read a lot of your advice and have learned a ton.
My Favorite was watching you fight off some of the little boys trying to meet your daughter,
Yea , that was funny - Freakin Cannibals
She washed her rear window the other day only to put a sh^tload of stickers on it. Looks pretty damn ugly now, oh well , what do you do
Darksider - Which one blew ? The timesert kit makes it pretty easy to repair - they have a vid you can watch on there site.

Thanks again guys for all the advice regarding this. You have no idea how much I appreciate it!
With that being said I checked out the time-sert site and checked out distrubutors the have and contacted Fastenal here in town and said I should have a kit by Monday. Hopefully the guy I talked to knows what I'm talking about. He quoted me $135.00 for the kit which is alot cheaper than what I expected.
I'll know more Monday.
I guess I should go get a Hayne's Repair Manual while I'm at cuz I'm sure I will need to pull some stuff off the top to do the repair.
And if I'm going to do this should I do them all or just wait till they blow out? What would you guys do? If I'm going to have it apart to do one thought maybe I should just take the time now instead of doing it again later....what are your thoughts?
Thanks again guys!
