I have an 05 and worried about the plug change for months. I was planning on going to about 95,000 but finally gave in at 65,000. I took it to the dealer, they followed the TSB on removal, and none of mine broke. I think that if you use clean gas (a top tier), and foloow the TSB, you will more than likely be just fine. My dealer has not had a problem getting them out. I do think it is very important to use a gas with a good detergent or periodically run an additive thru the tank.

An 05
- Keep an eye on the injectors in that model . That's good news on the plugs. I think if I owned an 05 , I might look into a more reliable set of injectors; so I didn't have to deal with an issue later on down the road. From what I've read , they can't be trusted.
I have a 2000 f-150 4.6 with 168,000 kms on it. The original plugs were changed by ford at 118,000 kms. Right after I bought it. I have been reading about all the horror stories on the net over the winter about blowing plugs out. so when I got my truck out of storage a week ago I checked them all and they were all tight and felt good.
