very high idle!!

I just recently joined this site after getting some great info. My problem is after cleaning the throttle body I have an excessive high idle. Before hand the it would idle very rough and sometimes die. Just don't know what the problem could be,any input would be greatly appreciated. BTW it is a '94 F-150 302, 4X4.

Thanx,
Rob

Sounds like a IAC [idle air controller] problem.

I cleaned out the IAC as well but I guess it could still be a problem. I will get some codes and get back with you guys, and maybe that will help narrow it down. Thanks again for the feedback.

I had a TP sensor go out on a mid nineties F150 one time, caused a similar issue....vacuum leak a good possibilty, and also what Torkum said about the IAC............basically unmetered air, IAC or TP would sum it up

I'll check the TP sensor and IAC valve and post my findings. Thanks for the help.
