OK, we brought the truck home Mon. evening. I am in love w/ it. Handles so much different. Independant front end suspension? MUCH better visibility than the dodge too. (for us short people that's a big deal LOL) Took a while to figure out what CD DJ was, but my 14 yr. old figured it out, of course that's her favorite part of the truck.

There is a ford dealer sticker on the window that says oil was changed just before it was traded.
When we change it, what is recommended for oil, we usually change every 3000 miles. We are using a syn. blend in our other vehicles. (mobil 1)

Ironically, there was a flatbed in the driveway picking up the dodge when we got home. Made me feel a little bad for the poor thing.

Gotta get those nerf bars (want stainless)

Thanks

Sounds good , it has no rust ? that's even better - I fight rust every year and have been for the last 3 years . Frickin Michigan salt - very deadly!! Body work keeps me busy in the off months. I'm gonna have to find a bed for this one pretty soon. $@$$@#$%% rust!! Maybe find a southern truck w/blown motor

If you want to use Mobil 1, that's fine, use 5W20. Use a Motorcraft filter if you don't want to pay the price for a Mobil 1 filter. If you are going to change every 3k, you could save bucks by using 5W20 Motorcraft semi-synthetic. Wallymart has the Motorcraft oil and filters.

I dunno Jbrew, my truck has no rust... then again it only has 40k miles on it. Live on a dirt road too so its constantly coated in mud on the the underside, only part that scares me the most is the door jam, bottom, lots of mud in there so I keep wiping it down with dun-ez, now I just need to get it running ok and I am set!

Grats on your new Ford, I just got mine in February and I love it!

looked like the #4 was over torqued by the dealer. I'd changed plugs in the garage.
12lbs and anti-seize.

Because Ford has changed the recommendation since the book was written, and the new recommendation (5W20) applies to all engines back to 97.

Your 100% right Klitch ! I have a good idea what you were thinking about before posting that comment.

Don't waste your time explaining anything to him. He'll just pout and then disappear as he usually does when he's not totally correct about something.

Anyway, I believe Ford gives consumers with high miles the benefit of the doubt toward applying any TSB to there vehicles.

I don't think it's a good idea re-weighting those high mileage vehicles, that's mechanical common sense isn't it?

Hell, when a vehicle with said mileage made it that far on 5w 30w, just keep doin what your doin .. - it's working.
