What do you mean by additives? Like a system cleaner, octane booster, etc?

If you mean octane boosters, they're generally a waste and will **** off your plugs. Cleaners through the tank are fair at best, they really only get their best benefit when a full 3 step process is done.

i meant exactly what I said..fuel addatives..they claim that they clean and raise octance....almost any bottle you add to your gas says that

All additives have their own specific usage. For example, NOS brand is an octane booster, claiming to raise the octane rating of your fuel. Supposedly, you can add it to your tank (up to xxx gallons) and raise the octane level to 105 or something like that. Fuel system cleaner additives are designed not to boost octane, but to clean essential fuel system components. They are made to burn off carbon deposits, clean injectors, some get rid of water in your fuel. So, in order to answer your question, which one are you questioning and whats your goal. If you want to raise octane, go with one that raises the octane level to 105 and have a blast. Little to no real effect though as most new cars are designed with a maximum available octane on the market of 93 (that I know of, maybe higher is some places) If you're lookin to clean the internals, go with a matched 2 or 3 step kit. The two step has a fuel additive and intake additive. The 3 step adds a TB cleaner. I'm not trying to be an ***, but there are different types and if we don't know which one you want to know about then we can't try and help you figure which one you need

Ok, well then I ran several different ones trying to see if I could optimize anymore with my setup. (supercharged intercooled blah blah and so forth) In the long run, I noticed no difference in power. I did however notice that it make my plugs age faster. They appeared to have burned "hotter" based on a picture diagnosis from a reputable site i used to compare mine and the problems plugs are known to generate. This was a problem for me cause I am running Iridium plugs which cost a bloody fortune. (like you know, $75 a set) Mine are closed down on gap to .035 to compensate for the blower and timing and whatnot but still, I didn't find the octane booster worthy of the money. Just buying high grade 93 octane is enough for me. As for the cleaners, they can be a "priceless" item. I have this real odd problem I've never been able to solve, where my pcm says I run rich on the right bank and lean on the left bank. ( i have tried every possible solution to no avail) The plugs don't show any difference between sides, but I run a Fuel Injection Cleaning on it about every 5K miles with an intank, intake, and TB cleaner. It more piece of mind for me know that the system is working in tandem.

I've started using Amsoil PI every 5000 miles. Once it gets warmer i want to check and clean my throttle body if needed.

Octane boosters are generally just snake oil. Many of them have metallic compounds that can damage catalytic converters. I would not even think of using them except in modified engines that NEED the stuff for whatever reason. Additives that contain Techron (a Chevron chemical) are approved by Ford and are proven to reduce combustion chamber deposits. The best additive that can be put in the gas to clean injectors is BG44K. Amsoil PI can slightly improve gas mileage in some vehicles.
