Jester - If you absolutely can't get the EVAP to run and pass. See #9 in the diagram. Disconnect the hose vent from the valve and give it another shot

Not the hose in front, the one that is plugged in valve in this the diagram (#9), it connects to the back, hard to see in this illustration.

That Orange/Red deal at the end of the hose is what I'm referring to and nothing else. Reach up above the rear axle/disconnect/run the EVAP cycle.

Don't remove anything from the truck- disconnect and plug it back in at will.

Jbrew, wouldn't that cause an EVAP leak? I'm a little confused as to what you are disconnecting? What kind of trick do you have up your sleeve here?

Huh , didn't see yuh the first time around FT - You should have thru something at me

Dropped my truck off @ the dealership in 2002. I didn't have time to work on it back them. - Had them do my front end for me and troubleshoot a P1000 code while it was in. Picked the truck up and they said they had to back order a Charcoal canister for it. The tech unplugged that and told me that I would be alright without one . Well, I just quit calling them after awhile - they never did call me back, must of been unable to get me a replacement.

I haven't had a P1000 since I picked up the truck in 02.

I think after the charcoal canister plugs up - the vent filter plugs next . They may not have allowed the EVAP to run. Never any leaks- That hose dumps into an empty container - top of the tank somewhere..

Gotcha....you are refering to the discharge side for the CV solenoid then...I was confused at first and thought you meant the hose coming off the fuel tank going to the solenoid. Some vehicles just have a small elbow coming off the CV, I've seen the CV solenoids get caked up with dirt due to that and throw a leak code
