'02 4.2L hesitation

Hi folks. I read through posts with similar problems but still need some help.

2002 4.2
No CEL light on

I had BAD hesitation/jerking when accelerating b/t 40-60. So I changed plugs and wires (one wire was cracked to the core). It ran a lot better for 10 minutes, then started hesitating but not as bad. Other posts referred to COPs but I don't belive I have those. PLEASE advise on what to do.

I do not have a good feeling about the local dealer (or their prices). So some DIY suggestions will be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Next step is a new coil pack.

Dumb question: The coil pack is the "ignition coil" right?
