I wouldn't use it in an engine that is in decent condition. Any good motor oil already has all the additives it needs in it. IF the motor oil maker wanted you to use lucas with their oil, they would state something like this on the oil container: for best results use with lucas oil stabilizer. The lucas will only thicken the oil and throw off the additive balance. On the other hand if your engine is pretty well worn out and is using a great amount of oil or has low oil pressure due to worn bearings, lucas oil stabilizer is a good product to add to you oil.

The Lucas Oil Stabilizer works great for quietning down a chattery motor.

My truck takes 6 quarts to fill. I use 5 quarts of my regular oil and 1 of the Lucas. I only do this 2x a year. It is very sticky and I do fear gumming u an engine with too much of it. It has dropped my oil consumption as well.

Are we on the same page here? Are we talking about the same thing? There is more than one thing that goes into the engine - one way or another.

Lucas Oil manufactures a wide variety of products.

Well, the only product mentioned is the one on the first line the OP posted.

*Lucas Oil Stabilizer*

I have used this product for years and love it. Use is periodically in a noisy engine and it will run much quieter. I have also seen it *reduce* blowby in my rig. I haven't had any ill effects yet. *knock on wood*

This post certainly shows the power of advertizing. The Lucas Stabilizer is nothing more than a viscosity enhancer. There are no anti-wear, anti-corrosion, friction modifier additives, or anything in the mix to make your engine go one mile farther. If you think you need this in your oil, I'd suggest buying a heavier viscosity oil. That's all you're getting out of this anyway.

That's all the old STP Oil Treatment is - a viscosity enhancer. It pours like syrup.
