project mini monster underway.

well i been talking about doing this for a while, got "terminated" from my job so i decided to jump all over this with the time i have now. in 10 hours i have completed fuel pump swap via removing bed, which took quite a while since the bolts were seized so bad one of 4 that had not been removed before sheared.

exhaust manifold on p/s is off the cyl, half the studs sheared. drivers side actually let me split at the manifold to cats.

oil sender wire wasnt very fun to chase down its routing, jmc and brew- that was it not the evo wiring.

coolant temp sensors, my truck has 2, L setup has one that i see and it looks like it may not reach. MAY be a slight hassle.

i know i've forgotten plenty of things i wanted to list off here for others to see later. but it aughta come back to me.
as the truck sits, its ready for a second set of hands finally to help me guide it out, all thats left is the motor mounts. (this is majorly me so far)

anyone think that its a bad idea to split the intake manifold after its been torqued down once but not heated? i mean for the gaskets.

check out the pics i do have so far. https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?num=16069

No wonder you are not done yet. You spent ½ your time taking pictures instead of working. Good job so far. If I was closer I would be over there helping. All I can do form here is to say job well done.

I'm not sure this will help, but could you delete the one to the PCM with the correct tuning? The later trucks don't have one, but infer the coolant temp from the CHT. You would still need the one to the idiot gauge though.

i'll talk to troyer asap about that then, since he's already deleted certain sensors for this swap. thanks for putting that out there for me to ask him.

Just tap the crossover and weld on a bung for the 2nd sensor. You don't really need the one for the instrument cluster.

True to both. I thought about letting the dash coolant temp gauge just go dead when I added an Autometer so I could use the tapped hole, but realized that it would bother me to see a gauge at zero, or less. It is not hard to drill and tap another hole.
I'm not sure what this intake looks like.....photos are always nice.

I'de help yuh, if I was closer. - as long as JMC was there to do most of the work Nah, - I would give yuh a hand, looks like you have a cool place to work on her there. How far is "Potato" land from the MI/OHIO line ?

Yea, I know what it's like giving up your job for your little one/ones. I did over a year and a half ago, but the first ones graduating - One more to go..Hang in there. - You'll be poor for awhile, but it's worth it..

my best shot of it right now.

JMC: i'd happily do that right away if i had a tig well i may still have it done for me. any other options? im not sure if i'd forget and freak about not having a guage in the cluster at 0 lol.

side note, my parts guy i been dealing with is f'n retarded. and i must be as well to let 2 bolts get by the parts counter before i realized they look wrong. crank pulley bolt is wrong, he gave me F5RZ-6A340-B not sure what its for but i know its too small to fit into the snout of the crank! u guys know the correct part # by chance so i can just tell them what to bring in?

We could go get the beer Joey - Maybe hustle up a few races on the way to the store -(beer money) - We should prolly take your truck tho. So we eliminate the possibility of returning, - empty handed. :o

Here's what I did on my NPI stocker. You may not need to add material as yours looks thicker at the crossover.

You could fab up a T to allow you to use both sensors.

If you going to use a "T" - Go with a good brass unit. Brass/Teflon tape work well together.

Heres what I've used on an Air Compressor - It's plenty heavy enough and corrosion resistant enough for a coolant system. It's trustworthy @ 175 lbs -

Never had a problem using tape, used it here -
