its oddball wire it seems, i couldnt find its home. it seriously disappears in the muck on the block by the oil filter. i was thinkin to the sending unit but why one wire?
OH !! That one , just a minute, I have that somewhere. -

Well , heres one -courteously from BARTAK. He just doesn't know it yet -

BTW - Thats a WABS wire for brake steering I think. I'm pretty sure that was a Navigator deal. Anyway, you don't have that little goody - it's just an extra and doesn't go anywhere, if this happens to be what your talking about.

If that's not it , then I know what one your talking about. It is the sender. I remember that one well after re- wiring my harness. It hard to see and get at in the 4x4 - well it was on mine, with a remote oil filter. The harness connector is white lol - didn't I say I remember that one well. It's white on my 98 anyway.
Where does it plug in ? - If the drivers side wheel well is removed and you look just above the front axle / bottom of the motor you should be able to see it. If not, then you need to clean your fricken sh^t up so you can work on it lol. You can also see it from underneath of the truck looking toward the top of the axle /bottom of the motor. It is a PITA to get to, I can't recall what was in the way. Getting to it from underneath was easier than from the side, if that helps.

What jbrew said. I answered your PM a few minutes ago. Because you only mentioned one wire I left out the part about it could be the EVO actuator connector wires. Because the F series don't have that. EVO = Electronic Variable Orifice. The EXPI had Variable Assist Power Steering.

PS. Sorry 'bout the thread hijack....
