truck problems

truck problems

i just purchased a 2001 lightning, and allready im having some problems. When u put ur foot in 2 it it seems 2 fall on its face at about 3500 to 4000 rmp. but if u roll into the throttle it seems 2 do a little better.Im not really sure whats going on.

would that make the motor run rich?

Yes the misfire would cause raw fuel to be in the exhaust, but is the truck stock, or has it been tuned?

Well does it have an aftermarket intake, exhaust, pulleys,etc?

Well maybe it needs a good tune up, new plugs,fuel filter, tranny flush, etc.

I would want a set of high end plugs for that motor - Denso's or NGK's . The new Motorcrafts are nice.

Sounds like a fuel problem to me tho..

Thats what I was thinking, the fuel demand gets high at 3500-4000 with the blower, and with no codes, i'm guessing b/c he didn't mention any, the fuel filter would be my first stop.

Mine as well. I'd prolly replace the filter and take it for a spin - see what happens. If the problem still exists. I think I would check pressure at the rail and the regulator. Doesn't cost much, that's for sure.

cool thanks 4 the help im going 2 try the fuel filter and then go from there.
