Just got back from the Ford Garage. Service advisor and lead tech listened to my engine. Both agreed that it was one of the best sounding 2004 5.4l 3valves they had heard, and that I had nothing to worry about. An 05 came in last week, and it sounded like the cam was going to blow through the head. I think I'll buy an extended warranty just to be safe. I can get a bumper/bumper warr. till 2012/100,000 miles for a little over $1,500. My truck only has 35k now, so I'm sure I'd get my moneys worth. Anyone else had experiences with the cam phaser or injector noise.
