Ok, I am one of the ones that has had the bad hesitation and jerk problem. Mine started about 7 months ago. I had the plugs replaced (note no CEL at that time) and that seemed to help. Well I started getting the hesitation and jerk again a few weeks ago and yesterday my CEL came on. Had the code read and it is a misfire on #6. Reset the CEL and have been about 50miles since and it has not come back on, hesitation and jerk are still there but do not seem to be as bad as before the CEL came on.
So my question is do I really need to have all 8 COP's replaced or can I just get #6 replaced? If I can get just #6 replaced, does it have to be a Motorocraft? I called a local shop that someone recommended to me and just to replaced #6 will be about $90 total. Said the COP was about $50, obviously using after market. I asked him about mixing the Motorcraft and after market and he said that it is not a problem. What's you guys experience?
Also since my plugs are still relatively new is there any reason in replacing it? To be honest I am not sure what brand of plugs are in it from when I had the plugs changed.
I thought about tackling this myself but not sure how difficult the COP's are to get out.

I would recommend changing them all, I had the same problem with my 01 Screw 5.4 and before I even took it to the shop I came on here, researched the problem and just changed all COP's by myself and it runs better than ever now. More power and better fuel milage.
I bought my set of COP's off of ebay. Total cost was $130 shipped for all 8. It takes about 3 hours to change all of them and is a very easy job.

The current price for the Ebay cops is under $100 shipped for a set of 8. You can buy a full set for what a shop is going to charge you to change just one. Don't forget the dielectric grease.
