Modular Engine Lift Bracket?

I have a few questions for those who have pulled a 3V engine from an F150.

1. Do I absolutly need the 303-F047 Modular Lift Bracket lift the engine out?

2. After looking at the bracket in the service manual, I am guessing a basic leveler would work fine (with the proper sized chains). If so, are there any pointers on the "best" locations to bolt up to that can easily support the weight of the engine?

Thanks in advance!

Cool

HI!... Remove the intake manifold and alternator. Use one of the hole to mount the alternator on the top front of the block. Then either use one of the threaded holes on the back of the heads or one of the bell housing bolt holes on the block.

Ya, simplest way would be that but just curious what they want for this kit? Shold be one bracket with a pin and a bolt for each side. Problem is, you gotta remove and get yourself into those spots to install these things.

Neal, any news on the white truck?
