Must buy an engine in the next 48 hours

long story short my engine blew up. looking at a budget around 4000.00 and i found some lightning long blocks for around 3400. I have a 2001 supercrew with a magna charger on it. I was wondering if i did a lightning long block... will my sc fit? will the tuning on it be alot different? or should i go with a navigator engine with the 4 valves? and would my sc fit? Please let me know.

Start pulling the parts off of your engine and bolt them up to the L long block. A tweak of the tune would help because of the lower Compression ratio of the Lightning. 8.5:1 vs 9.2:1

For the cash you have to spend yes. The L long block has slightly stronger interenals. How did your stock block last? If it were me I would find a cheap 5.4 Long block and build that. But that will cost you more than 4k.

Hmm

Corvettguy. That's the way I go when I picuk a fairly new car cheap that has a blow engine in it. Depening on the make I have certain Salvage yards I work with for the engines. Heck if I need to get it on the road quick, pay the salvage yard guy little extra to put it in. I remeber I did that with this caddy once. but it was trans I needed and a guy in my own backyard had a low milage one got it installed for under 1000. Had that thing on the road in no time. Good luck DSD hope you find one.

Depends on how good the rebuilder is. Some of them around here are crap. Ask a lot of questions about what they call a rebuilt engine.

FJE is a Ford Authorized Distributor of the Ford Remanufactured powertrain assemblies and Motorcraft powertrain assemblies.

Don't know if they sell direct, however. But I am sure they can tell you who they supply.
