gas mileage sucks

gas mileage sucks

i have a 97 f150 lariet 2wd with the 4.6 .I have a 3inch bl with 33s and my gas mileage sucks. I know with the tires it was going to drop a little but i didnt know that much.Do you guys think of anything that might be making this happen.Clogged cats, needing to get 4.56? help me out here.

The winter blends have killed me, averaged 14.7 today out of a 98 4.6 4x4, in the summer i usually get 17 city and 19 hwy. What kind of mileage you getting?

Wind resistance from that lift won't help, but did you regear with the bigger tires?

If you did not and you did not program the speedometer to read accurately, then your math has been off. A 4.6L in its proper powerband will moves those tires easily enough.

If you did not correct the speedometer when you put the 33's on, your odometer is running between 15 and 20% behind - so if you *think* you are getting 12 mpg, you are really getting about 14.
