How to get the max of low end torque for towing????

Ok so I have a 01 4x4 screw with a 4 inch lift and I want to use it to tow a 20ft enclosed car trailer. I am looking to get the max low end torque for towing that I can for now as a NA 5.4. Then maybe do a eaton swap next year. What would you guys recomend to get max towing power out of a 5.4l ? long tubes, throtle body, programmer?? It has a cai, airaid spacer some exhaust and 3.55s. Idea's? Thanks!

Long tubes will give you good torque, swap the 3.55's for a set of 4.10's if you are wanting good bottom end, a set of under drive pulleys and a tuner would be good as well.

I'd get some lower gears first and then go from there

Ok so here is what im thinking .... 373 gears (due to I commute and dont want bad mpg) hypertech programmer , pacesetter lth's, magnaflow muffler, pullies, cai, airaid thottle body spacer and a fresh set of plugs and cop's. What should this bring the hp and tq to?? Also what is stock?

You have a 5.4L - 4.10's all the way .. 3.73's wouldn't impress you for the expense. I'll bet you'll get better mileage with 4.10's than you do now.

Check out the "OtherPowertrain" Forum on this site for more info. It's expensive to have done on the 4x4 , but you'll get the best results changing up the gearing from 3.55's.

If your running rubber over 305's (33's), you may want to go with the next size up from 4.10's.

Like I said - Check out the other forum for more info..

also get 24# injectors, they will add up to 100ft lbs at part throttle, perfect for towing, I only took mine out because they are too small for my supercharger

Really now, was that with or without a Throttle Body Spacer?

Troyer is one of your best options. If you give them a call & discuss with them what you want to do with your truck, they could put together a package for you with everything that you will need from intake, to exhaust, to pulleys, to tuning, et cetera.
