Dielectic grease.....How to? 5.4v8 2valve
Before installing the new Coil on plug, should you dielectic grease the OUTSIDE of the rubber boot or gently pull off the boot and grease the wire/coil INSIDE and slip boot back on, then install?
Also should you put a tiny bit of Die grease on the two prong electric plug in or the female part of the coil plug in?
I saw a picture of an after market vs motorcraft coil on plug.

And the motorcraft had a rubber step/seat inside the female part of the plug in on the coil itself to make a good seal when plugged in. The after market did not. Maybe thats where the heavy rains are coming in off of my front tires and getting into the motor compartment while driving and shorting out my coil through the plug in on the coil. I just repaired one last week (replaced coil #6) and now I have another small misfire on another cyl somewhere. (no code yet)
