Help???
Help???
my engine is over-revving.
like 2500RPM at IDLE!!!!
i went off roading on a back road, nothing too terribly serious and then it idles really high afterwards and in Neutral it hits 3000RPM and it shifts from 1st around 3800RPM.
its a almost new 5.8L V8 in a '93 F150 Flarside XLT.
if anyone could provide me with a quick cheap fix i would greatly appreciate it!

i looked but it started to pour down rain so i ran inside, im gonna start digging tomorrow so i'll find out.
on another site someone said it could be something to do with the Intake or AMM.

Does your truck have a MAF sensor? i cannot recall if the 93s were speed density. If it doesn't have a MAF you have a Vacuum leak. Speed Density engine idle speeds up with a vacuum leak.
