My '99 doesn't have a "PCV Elbow" on the back of the intake... It has a long plastic tube that makes a gentle arc behind the intake and then comes straight at the manifold. No elbow, just a normal straight hose connecting it to the plenum. I'll see if I can get a picture. It may be worth finding if you can eliminate the elbow and never have to worry about it again.

Thanks does not cover the fact that you put a picture of that PCV elbow on the Ford package on this website. I went to the dealer 2 days ago and he told me I had to buy the entire PCV vacuum hose assembly. Thank God I knew better and waited. I will be writing that Part # down and going to the Ford dealer and asking him to order me the part.

Thanks again !!!!!!!!

It's always good to have choices.

The PCV valve on the 4.2L is a liittle further back in the valve cover passenger side. Just follow that line and it will lead you right to it

The 02 4.2 may be using the water heated PCV, which doesn't look like a PCV valve at all.

I show two types - One w/2 90 degree bends and the other is vertical w/the 90 degree bend being on the boot to pipe connect.

Doesn't list a heated one , but I've seen them before where there fastened by a metal retaining clip - goofy looking deals.

The 46017 elbow was much smaller than my original one. I found the 47028 to be a better fit.

Thanks for the help!

So glad I found this forum.. I chased this code for months and finally pinned it to the PVC elbow. A 8$ part almost broke my bank. Glad I came here. Saved me a ton of time. I'm still not sure how I missed that elbow when I did the starter fluid test for leaks. But all is well (just waiting in this stupid DMV line now)
