Trouble Code PO171

Once again - Trouble Code PO171 Fuel System Lean - Bank 1.
I had this same code a few years back and learned what it meant on this site.
It means that the MAF sensor is contaminated and needs replacement, or better yet - cleaning. The MAF sensor gets dirt on the two wires which measure air flow through the venturi located in the intake duct behind the air filter. The dirt on the wires cause the MAF sensor to read low air flow and thus signal the computer to lower the fuel injector rate causing lean mixture.
If you disconnect and remove the MAF sensor you can clean the tiny MAF sensor wires with a Q-tip and Chemtool carburetor cleaner. Be vary careful not to apply too much pressure on the wires with the Q-tip or they'll break.
Re-install MAF sensor, clear the trouble code and you're ready to go !!
A simple $5 fix - instead of a $400 auto shop replacement charge.

Um, not quite.

IF the MAF is dirty, it would cause a lean reading from both banks. P0171 AND P0174.
