I need some help

Okay, let me say first I really don't know anything about trucks too much, but last night I was at a party and got stuck in the mud. I was able to be pulled out, but during the process I think I might have blown my power steering.

I need to know if there is an easy way to tell if this is true.

Pretty much there is LOTS of mud underneath my truck, and I really have to turn my steering wheel just to turn (and I mean I'm putting all my force into it)

so please I need to know what to do, thanks!!!!

First thing you need to do is clean out all the mud.

Prolly wasted the serp belt. When you get her stuck like that , you can get those little stones stuck in the grooves of the belt. When that happens - the stones grow roots and make there home their. They dig right into the belt and cause noise and slipping.

Replace the belt and clean all the pulley's up.

Could you have punctured the powersteering cooler.
Is it oily inside the engine compartment?

You might want to check your air filter.

Water/mud may have compromised the media. Your paper filter could have sucked inside it's self forming a softball size spit-ball that can block most of the air flow into the motor.

Check it out

Check the power steering fluid level. If it is full check the steering linkage. You may have bent something. Start truck and bleed the system. Turn the wheel from lock to lock a few times. This will purge the system of any air.
