Everyone,

I did clean the MAF with electrical contact cleaner. It helped somewhat, but it does not cure it. What about cleaning the injectors? What do you guys use for that?

Clean it again - specially if you oil the air filter. Clean the throttle body and plenum. You could pull a little slack out the cable using 1 zip tie on the cable in the cab by the fuel peddle (just one!) but I don't think that's the problem.

Personally I don't believe cleaning the injectors is ever needed. My last set along with friends at work have all purchased new injectors on ebay . The most I paid for a new set is $65 . It cost more to clean them.

sounds familiar, we had the same problems on the 99-04 Mustangs. there was a problem with not being able to reach WOT becuase of the pedal positioning.

Yea, but that wouldn't cause this guys problem.

For some reason the TPS position isn't right on the meter in these trucks and needs to be adjusted. I didn't notice any difference choking up the cable. But I did notice a difference after making the TPS adjustable and re-positioning correctly.

BUT - If I had to guess at what the OP's problem is with hesitation - I would go with the regulator or dirty TB and Plenum. A dirty TB can cause throttle plate hang up. In-turn, possibly confusing the whole system to a certain degree. - Enough to cause the problem.

Thanks for all of your help! When it warms up, I'll clean the throttle body and see what it does. Sure wish I had a heated garage!

1. New fuel filter
2. New COPs
3. New Plugs
4. Cold Air Intake (Ebay)

The only thing not done was cleaning the throttle body. Will this make a huge difference?

Any other ideas?

Thanks!
It's called a clunker!
