hypertech computer chip

i have a 1993 f150 5.0 v8. i have a new motor and tranny and have been looking at the hypertech chip that plugs into my trucks computer but i dont know anything about them. i was just wondering if anyone knows much about them and whether or not they make a noticable difference in power, gas mileage, and whether or not its worth buying and if it can hurt anything. the motor is a jasper stage 1 performance motor which just has a bigger cam and i have a catback dual exhaust system if that makes a difference. any info is appreciated.

Hypertech

I am not sure what features are available with a 93 chipset. Mine is actually a hand held unit. I am guessing you are OBDI. Since your fuel management and ignition are managed a bit differently. My truck is stock as far as the engine goes and I have a K&N and cat back exhaust. I notice a bit of difference with the tuning. I feel like it was worth the $299, but for another $100 I should have done troyer tunes.

now i'm confused

summit has a part number listed for my 93 but on hypertechs website they don't even show anything for a 93. i believe they are still the same system and a friend of mine has a 94 f150 with a hypertech chip. will it work for mine?
