'99 Spark Plug Question

Does my '99 F-150 with 5.4L engine have the "frightening" spark plugs with the long unthreaded ground electrode shield that usually breaks off in the head, or are they the easier to remove spark plugs?

At least they'll come out with little (or no) effort.

The truck I just bought has 89,000 miles on it, so I'm thinking about changing them about 10,000 miles early. I'm hoping that as long as I torque them to 25 foot pounds(?), they'll stay put.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I've already went from no knowledge about these trucks, to quite a bit in the week since I bought it.

Hope you are joking about the 25ft pounds on the plugs. Do a search on the does and don'ts about the plugs.

Yes, that torque value was posted in an old thread about spark plugs that I saw on this site, incorrect or not. If you'll note, I put a "?" mark after mentioning that torque value in my post above, because I'd not checked yet to see if that value was in fact correct.

What is the correct torque value, and what type of anti-seize (if any) be used on the threads?
