06 Fuel Filter Replacement

Im in need of a filter replacement, could someone tell me where I can find the filter location at? 06 4x4 Crew, thanks.

On the inside of the frame underneath the drivers side door. Since you're asking this question, I assume you have never replaced one. If that is correct, do a search on the subject and read about the special tool and how it is used. May even be a step by step up un the Technical Articles.

I did a search and came up with nothing. what "special tool" do i need, and what can i expect to pay for this tool? I have the filter already, I will be changing it this weekend (2/9/08) along with the oil. where can I purchase the tool as well? Thanks for the replies.

I believe the Ford one is 5/16. Go with the plastic type. The metal ones are sometimes too big. Be careful not to break the connector on the fuel line as this part cannot be replaced. You must replace the entire fuel line. When you slide the tool in, the fuel line should pop right off. Do not exert alot of force as you will break the clip.
