Help with thoughts of a engine swap!!

Whasup everybody?? Im gonna post my sig, but what i was wanting to do was maybe swap my 2 valve 4.6 with a newer model 3 valve 5.4. I have found an engine fairly cheap, but dont know what kind of problems lie ahead with computer issues. anybody that has seen or helped do this it would be great for some feedback and i guess my main concern would be the cost effectiveness of it. Better to get the engine or just keep adding on to the ole 4six?? Thanks to all.

Your problem is not the tuning its the linkage at the throttle body. Its driven by cable on yours and by computer on the 3V. If you want to do a 5.4 swap stay with the 2V and it is much easier to swap in.

Sorry, not trying to Hi-jack, but would you give the same advice for someone wanting to swap from an 04 4.6 to a 5.4?

Is there a reason you want to drop a supercharged 4.6 for the 5.4?

Your charger wont fit. so the rest of your mods would be worthless unless you buy a charger for a 5.4. You can find lightning take off's for 2K on ebay.

The only thing you need to make the charger work is the 5.4 bracket.

That's what I was thinking!
Everything you have should work on the 5.4 other then the tune. You'll need a new tune.
And if I was going through the trouble of a engine swap. I would put ported heads and high performance cams in it before it went in!

I checked out your pics. Man you have a great setup. I wish i would have saved and went with a roost style blower, but at the time powerdyne was more affordable and i was dying for a supercharger. Lookin at the 928 impeller. I could probably see 15 or 16 psi with a good tune but stock bottom prob wouldnt hold up. Thats why im wanting a 5 four to build Thanks for your feed back Phil..

If you are going to run that high a boost you will need lower compression heads/pistons.
