Engine question for you guys...
First off... Hello fellow Ford fans. First time poster here, but I really need your help. Here goes...
I have a '96 Mustang GT which has its original non-PI powerplant with roughly 200k miles. I was planning to buy a longblock early next year. However a friend of mine just rolled and totalled his '00 F150 with the 4.6 Trition. I can get the entire truck off him for about $1k. Are the '00 4.6 Tritons different from the '00 4.6 2v in the Mustangs? If I can use his motor it would be a steal for me. His trk had low miles and was very well kept. Otherwise I'm facing $4500 for a D.S.S. Racing longblock. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I posted this same question on a Mustang forum but no one seems too familiar with the Tritons.

EDIT:
Maybe the trucks became PI in 2000, and Mustangs in 99?
