I could really use some help, I am trying to figure out what type of engine I have. The only numbers I can find, look to be mostly worn off. What I can see is a 38 S and a 2027 a little further down on the block. I am assuming the 2027 is a lot number, but I can't find any readable code like a E5AE on the block, thoughts on how I could overcome this?

Umm, you can't get the info from the VIN? The 8th character is the engine identifier. I'm sure there is a list on here somewhere as to which letter is what motor.
