I have heard from others who have had poor results with that brand. I won't buy that brand.

Exide batterys are pretty good, but you will find there isn't that may battery manufacturers out there, you will find that one maufacturer makes several different brand batteries......

I bet your problem isn't the battery, either you have a short circiut, a light staying on or something draining the battery with the ignition key off.
Your alternator could be bad, not putting out enough current, also check for bad electrical conections at battery and altenator....

If you had 3 batteries die in 6 months you have an electrical problem, otherwise you are one very unlucky person....

I have to agree with Ulf. I believe that you might have an underlining electrical problem. You might want to make sure that the battery meets the OE cold cranking amps (CCA) specifications.

Exide's have been great from my past experiences, when problems occurred, it was battery first, then alternator (sometimes twice, bad foreign crap I suppose) and starters. One thing to keep in mind is silicone dielectric everything, it goes a long way. My first battery lasted 7 years, alternator 8!!! I'm still on the original starter, but dielectriced that thing, under the red cap, almost right away. I find Motorcraft batteries really good having used more of them, AC Delco is good, but Exide's seem to be just as good, plus nationwide warranty for 2 or 3 years free replacement.

I don't think the alt is bad yet. What I mean by dead is I can come home tonight and be fine. In the morning I wont have a dome light. I'll pull it take it to my local Napa they put the tester on it and its dead, like 000 crank 0 volts. they tell me a plate shorted give me a new battery and I'm on my way. 3 or 4 months later it happens again. Pulled the Alt last time thinking it was it but they said it was fine. oh btw i bought the 1000 ca 760 CCA battery. Well above specs for this truck. I have alway bought exide and never had bad luck with them. The original battery went 6 years and i'm on my 3rd since then and that was December 06

When there are electric power issues, the whole system has to be tested out to find if there is more than one problem present.
For example; if the alternator regulator does not control the alternator output or allows it's output to be at to high a level, it tries to charge the battery excessivly and will eventually ruin the battery, then you have two issues that keep being a hassle until you go around the horn and replace both.
Test the system and find the issue.
On batteries, many large store chains have a battery built to there "money" level and don't always sell a top product. They gamble on the life of a battery just like the auto chain stores do on there 'lifetime' warrenty offerings with rebuilt parts.
Go with a Motorcraft battery and alternator, then you have a high chance of long life just like the original parts gave.
Motorcraft 850 cca battery is about $85 last time I bought one right from a dealer less than a year ago.
