I was just reading about the 2009 F150 and noted this info:
Diesel and EcoBoost gas turbo direct injection engines are planned for F-150 in 2010 as well.

Anyone know what EcoBoost gas turbo direct injection is? Does this mean there will be a turbocharged direct injection gas engine in 2010?

That's interesting, are they really using shim and bucket over valve on these engines?

 

I know Isuzu has been using direct injection on there V6 for a little while,but with what success I dont know. It is suposidly makes a little more power and a little better fuel economy but makes the motor a little noiser.

 

Honda has had it since at least 2003. Nothing new there.

Looks like a good system to me, diesels have been using direct injection since the early 90's. wont be long we will be seeing an o2 sensor on each cyl
