so this morning i look at my dash and notice that the air bag light is on and i didnt think much of it. and after i left school it started flashing then stayed soild. what does this air bag light mean?

 

theres a fault in the air bag system so now its disabled. The flash code can be counted to come up with a number such as 2 flashes, pause 3 flashes, long pause = flash code 23. It can help you understand what is at fault like your clock spring in your column or a faulty crash sensor circut.

 

I have a 97 Ranger that is doing the same thing. The right side of the front bumper is pushed in pretty far so I am assuming that the sensor on that side has tripped?

 

well another werid thing happend when i left work today. it flashed 3 times then stayed on. and then as i look down...the speed needle is not moving neither are the miles. but all the other ones are working fine. just the speedo and the miles dont work. could this be a fuse? oh and my pass. air bag is always turnd off and latey the light has been staying on after i turn off the truck.

 

Is it possible you blew a fuse somewhere ?

 

thats what im thinking and hopeing. ill pop the hood at lunch and take a look. well looks like i have the right to speed...What do you mean i was doing 60 in a 40 officer? my speedo says 0MPH so i held the gas down. and now my truck will hold 123,347 miles hehe guess its an oil chage every 3 months now lol

 

That ones prolly under the dash. One of those little suckers. BUT , I have NO idea besides that. I would go with the info that previous posters offered after checking the fuses..

 

well my truck fixed it self after abour 20 miles at 70MPH the speedo went up to 25 then to 80 then to 40 and then was at the speed i was doing 70 and the miles started rolling again. i was pretty close with the RPM and sound of how fast i was going. oh well im glad my truck fixed it self. the air bag light is still on thoe. if i get a code reader will it say why the airbag light is on?...how was cleaning your daugthers truck Jbrew?

 

It's still in the barn , I tore it apart . She even has mud in her washer fluid !!
Every connector is was locked together with muck. Can't power wash it - The spickets are still froze. The alternator is fried. I gave up on it for now - She has my truck

 

well im going to vote on a fuse.

 

oh jeeez its faster and its got 4x4 what if she takes your truck out? wered she find that mud at ive found some nice mud puddles but nva anything to get it that caked on there without getting stuck!

 

Those kids are nutts - She took vids with her phone. A kid w/ranger lost his serp belt out their . Kept running it back and forth in the mud until it quit. An F250 hooked up to the ranger and about 15 people piled into the ranger - They took turns getting whipped around in the mud in that little truck. The wheels were even locked up in the ranger . That F250 diesel tossed that little thing around in the mud like a rag doll !!

haha nice Jbrew that ranger sounds like some funn! tell her to take your video cam. next time lol. was it a diesel 250? haha why were the wheels locked they should have put it in netural at least lol.

 

It must have been a stick - so many people in the cab , they prolly hit the shifter. Yea it was F250 diesel whipping them around. It's all on video on her phone - but we can't transfer to the computer - No peripheral plug-in.

 

ok so i watched my airbag light today it blinked 5 times then no light then blinked 2 times giving me the air bag code 52..anyone know what this means?
