bbk underdrive pully set
im picking up a 3 piece set that was used. The guy said he took them off because of warranty issues on the same year and motor as my truck and never reinstalled them and ended up trading his truck in. So, i get them for cheap. I guess my question is where do i get a belt for it or know what size of belt.
Well i think i got burned. First off, im going to apologize ahead of time for the lovely 1.3 mp cell phone pictures. I guess thats what i get for buying used stuff. good thing it was only $20. So this is what i just got and i dont know if there is supposed to be any hardware to it, the guy said it uses the same hardware..?

heres the problem, i bought it at night and the best light was a street light, everything looked good to me until i got home, then i noticed this...

Theres a groove ripped on the outside edge of the key slot that goes about half way down. Like maybe it came loose while he had it on and as it was slipping off it did that, but then i would think the thing would fly off and be all dented up, but its not. Or it wasnt installed properly...I dunno. I dont even know if i want to ask if its ok to install it like that, just dont seem right. Is there any way something like that can be fixed by a machinist or anything?

Offset keyway is possible. Offset as in one side is bigger than the other. For mating up different sized pulleys and cranks. A decent machinist should be able to hook you up.
Or it may be possible to cut an entirely new keyway into the pulley. This would allow you to use the original key way and not have to worry about finding an odd ball key. This is probably the easiest route, for you and the machinist. But there would be no guaranty that this wouldn't happen again.

contact BBK and see what they suggest
If it doesn't pan out, then it was a good, cheep lesson to learn.
Look at the Summit Racing UD pulley set for 159.00. All steel, no piggyback, combined dampner and crank pulley and uses the stock length belt.
I love mine - adds nice power gain and mpg (1-2 using winter fuel).
