5.4 oil pan

got a question that someone can help me with, on my 2000, F-150, 5.4 2 wd
does the engine have to be pulled to remove the oil pan, had someone tell me that the rod and main brgs. should be changed around 150000 miles, I'm at that now, thanks for any comments.

The pan is a piece of cake to do in place. Undo the bolts and out she comes. As for replacing bearings as prevention, thats silly. You can do an oil pressure check and decide then. The modular engines are pretty easy on bearings if its maintained.

Thanks for the reply, don't know a lot about the 5.4 but it's never been one to shy away fron work, may add a little spring help in rear but other than the front breaks dusting a lot I'd but another one. Sure I'll be asking some more questions.

Put Carquest Blues on the front and you won't have that problem

I also have 233,000 on this 5.4L - No motor problems yet ..Never heard of doing the main bearings for the heck of it..
