Lightbulb modified mustang mass air?

I was wondering if anyone had played with the idea of using a mustang mass air flow sensor from a mustang on a 4.6 sohc motor in the old style f150. I know someone who heavily modified a mustang so i could easily get the mass air, throttle body etc... just wondering if it is even feasible

I don't recommend it.

FYI: It is a MAF - Mass Air Flow sensor... not a mass air throttle body.

It might work. I'd let other's chime in before buying it... best thing to do is let them give you one, and compare it... or basically see if it will just attach and work properly. If not, wait until some other's chime in. You might want to check back in a few hours.

Your truck probably would not even run and if it did you would see no gains in power what so ever!

You might be surprised to find that the Mustang MAF is smaller than the one on your truck. If I am not mistaken the Mustang TB is the reverse of what is on our trucks.

You will need to change your PCM too. The mustang TB points the wrong way.

I don't understand why you would want to change your MAF, when you are not making any other changes.

Grab the PI heads and buy you a PI intake (to fit the truck, to make your CAI hook up right) and a PCM and a custom tune. Your PCM will be tuned to make the (ORIGINAL) MAF work correctly.

MAF sensor must be calibrated to the fuel injector size.
Listen to phil6608.

Don't do it. Even if you got it for free. It would be a total waste of your time and effort.
