Engine randomly shuts off.

This happend to me twice earlier today. once i was pulling into a parking lot and when i went to turn, the engine cut out like i had turned the key off. it didnt shake, and it didnt make any weird noises. i put it in park, and it started right back up. on my way home it did the same thing at a stop sign, and it started back up fine. the check engine light didnt come on, nor anything else. i checked to see if maybe my leg was just hitting the key or something, but that couldnt have been the case. this has never happend before either, any ideas of what it could be?

Thanks

Cody

Battery cable, dirty MAF sensor, dirty fuel filter. Maintenance stuff.

I had a camaro that did that once. Ran great and all of the sudden it would die and not restart until it was cooled down. ended up being the MAF on that..

EGR valve, MAP, MAF, catalytic converter.

I went the cheap route on my 98 Lumina and cleaned my EGR valve with carb cleaner... CAREFULLY mind you, and got all the gunk out.

Eventually i replaced the MAP and MAF sensors only to find out it was the Cat conv and a back pressure issue.

Try the fuel delivery module. I just replace mine. I had the same problem. Do a search, there are a couple of post about it. It's located over your spare tire $111.00 from ford.
