Rattling Noise

I can't reproduce this at the dealership and I think I'm going to video the symptoms so they won't think I'm crazy. Anyway please read below and let me know if you have encountered this or have any ideas.

Usually when the engine is warming up I hear a rattling noise from the left side of the engine compartment. The noise changes or even goes away as I turn the steering wheel but there is no consistency to which direction, how much, or how far I turn it. It almost sounds like something hitting the fan as it is rhythmic but it's not that. It's intermittent. All fluid levels are good. There are no leaks or any other problems.

2004 F150 Supercrew 5.4l

Thanks,
Doug

get your helper to do this while you listen from underneath close to the drivers door.
possibility that the heat shield on the catalytic converter rattles as the rpm changes while turning the wheel:santa:
