Unhappy Low Voltage Problem

I am new to this site. I have a problem. I have a 1997 ford f-150 4.2 6cylinder. I am having issues with low voltage on my meter. I do need to replace the A/C compressor because It squaels loudly. could that be making the voltage to be low, or is it something else ? Any answers?

You sure it's not the belt that's slipping and squealing - and the alternator is not being driven at full speed?
